Creative craft designer
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! As you may have guessed, I love making things - from knitting and embroidery to upcycling and woodwork; if I can make it with my hands, I'll give it a try. Having spent seven years as the craft editor of Your Home magazine and six years prior to that working across a variety of industry-leading titles such as Sew, Let's Knit and Let's Get Crafting, I have designed, created, stepped and styled hundreds of craft and DIY projects. I have also worked across titles such as Wedding, Simply Sewing, and Homestyle magazine to create easy-to-follow, eye-catching projects to captivate and inspire readers at a wide variety of skill levels.
Experienced editor & stylist
Alongside my work as a craft designer, I have over 12 years' professional experience as an editor, copywriter and stylist. Having graduated in 2007 with a first class degree in journalism (and won the Morton Prize for Best New Media Student), I've worked on a variety of publications across the homes, interiors and craft sectors and quickly advanced from editorial assistant to deputy editor, then took on the role of craft editor. I'm an efficient, fast-working and organised writer, and can be relied on to create engaging copy on topic, and on deadline.
The girl behind the glue gun
When I'm not writing, I can usually be found beavering away making something for myself, or for my Etsy shop.
I live in a colourful little house in Colchester, Essex with my husband Jimmy and our cats, surrounded by quilts and other assorted projects of the past. Aside from crafting, I enjoy playing video games, devouring films and books, playing with retro cameras, watching true crime documentaries, and experimenting in the kitchen.
I am currently accepting both editorial and craft-based commissions and whilst I am most experienced in the homes, interiors and craft sectors, I'm happy to tackle any topic. Please visit me on social media using the links below, or get in touch via email - thanks for visiting!
