Creative craft designer

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

As you may have guessed, I love making things - from knitting and embroidery to upcycling and woodwork; if I can make it with my hands, I'll give it a try.

Having spent seven years as the craft editor of Your Home magazine and six years prior to that working across a variety of industry-leading titles such as Sew, Let's Knit, and Let's Get Crafting, I have designed, created, stepped, and styled hundreds of craft and DIY projects for consumer magazines.

I've also worked across titles such as Wedding, Molly Makes, We Like Sewing, Love Embroidery, Simply Sewing, and Homestyle to create easy-to-follow, eye-catching projects and features that captivate and inspire readers at a wide variety of skill levels.

Experienced editor & stylist

Alongside my work as a craft designer, I have almost 20 years of professional experience as an editor, copywriter, and stylist.

Having graduated in 2007 with a first class degree in journalism (and won the Morton Prize for Best New Media Student), I've worked across a variety of publications in the homes, interiors, and craft sectors and quickly advanced from editorial assistant to deputy editor, then craft editor, before launching my freelance career in 2019.

I'm an efficient, fast-working and organised writer, who can be relied upon to create engaging copy that's on topic, and on deadline.

I love to write about a wide variety of themes and ideas, so if you've got a project you think I'd be a good fit for - please do get in touch.

The girl behind the glue gun

When I'm not writing, I can usually be found beavering away making something for myself, or for my Etsy shop.
I live in a colourful little house in Derbyshire with my husband Jimmy and our four cats, surrounded by quilts and other assorted projects of the past.

Aside from crafting, I enjoy playing video games, devouring films and books, experimenting with retro cameras, watching true crime documentaries, and making a mess in the kitchen.

I'm currently accepting both editorial and craft-based commissions and whilst I am most experienced in the homes, interiors, and craft sectors, I'm happy to tackle any topic. Please visit me on social media using the links below, or get in touch via email - thanks for visiting!
